HHS Mission Statement

Students will:

  1. Be empowered to discover their own intrinsic motivation
  2. Realize the societal benefits and personal rewards of learning
  3. Focus on developing an action plan to achieve post secondary goals
  4. Express themselves creatively, critically, and effectively
  5. Contribute to society through productive and active citizenship
  6. Able to evaluate the validity and relevance of information and its sources

Students learn best when they are:

  1. Aware that the skills/knowledge they are acquiring are transferable and relevant to their own experience
  2. In a safe, supportive environment
  3. Challenged by a well-rounded curriculum
  4. Responsible for their own learning
  5. Given opportunities to collaborate and reflect

We will as educators:

  1. Serve as advocates for each student to ensure his/her own empowerment, voice, individuality in a diverse society
  2. Design and model activities that provide opportunities for students to become independent, critical thinkers
  3. Will provide a mentor system for each individual student
  4. Recognize and encourage participation by all students in the arts, athletics, and academics
  5. Model good morals and character for our students to emulate
